Central American Spider Monkey

(Ateles geoffroyi)

It is glorious to watch these long limbed spider monkeys whipping across the tree canopy showing off their almost acrobatic antics. This was taken in Corcovado National park in the southern Osa peninsula on a guided hike. Probably the only place in the world where you can watch Spider monkeys and White faced capuchins and listen to the howler monkeys all at the same time as we were taking this picture. A must for any nature seeker visiting Costa Rica.
